| Subject: Possible Universal Brony Attack? Wed Jan 29, 2014 11:16 pm | |
| I saw this image floating around on Imgur; and not sure whether to take it seriously or not: - Spoiler:
ALERT! THIS MAY AFFECT YOU! READ THE INFORMATION BELOW VERY CAREFULLY! One of my Brony friends has informed me of a possible attack on the Brony Fandom by the Internet Hacktivist Group Anonymous. Members of ANON are launching an operation called "Operation MLPoison". Here is what we were able to find out about this operation.
Activation Date: Feb 1, 2014
Description of Attack: There will be Three groups. These groups are labeled as the Blue Team, Yellow Team, and Red Team. Their goal for this attack is to "Rid the Internet of Bronies and everything related to My Little Pony".
Yellow Team: Acting as Spies, They will scan websites (deviantArt, YouTube, etc) for Bronies. They will also join game servers to search for Bronies.
Blue Team: Will hack into websites to steal information such as Addresses, Phone Numbers, etc. They will also hack into several Brony or MLP related websites (Equestria Daily, FiMFiction, etc).
Red Team (Labeled as Most Offensive): This team will use the information from Blue Team to send bronies Death Threats via Mail. Send pizzas to their homes (as if this hasn't been done before...-_-). Because Blue team will be ripping addresses. There is very high chance of physical attacks on bronies or their property. If someone comes to your home on the 1st of February, and they want to hurt you. You are strongly advised to contact Local, State, or Federal Law Enforcement.
What you can do to protect both yourself and your right to like what you want to like. Update your Firewall software, or install better software. Contact your Web or Game Server host and request that they monitor your server/node for unusual activity (if applicable) Contact your Internet Service Provider and alert them to this possible attack. They will lock down your home network and report suspicious IP Addresses to both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). They will also up the firewall for your network. If an Anon member comes to your home. Contact Law Enforcement and have any means of Self Defense ready (blades, guns, etc) If you notice unusual activity on an Internet account of your's. Log in and change the password and email address immediately. What you can do if you run a website or Game Server Ban anyone from Anonymous and issue I.P./I.P. Range Bans Report all Hacking or DDoS'ing to your host as soon as you catch it. Have a backup of your game server or website stored in a secure location.
If this happens, Anonymous will be in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1029 of United States Law regarding illegal internet activities and cyber terrorism.
Just whatever you guys do this Saturday, be suspicious of any weird activity not only here, but anywhere brony-related. I put the forum under "Admin's permission" for the next week. This means a person cannot join the forum without approval; so we don't get raided by like 10 people overnight. Be smart, be safe! -Nintenbrony

| Huh, I wonder why that might happen? Welp I can't view the image so it's been removed maybe. But I'll be on the causious side if it's anything serious.
If you happen to find the pic again be sure to post it.

| Thank you, Oathkeeper, for that update. They are removing and adding the image on imgur so no one can report it. I have updated the original post with a spoiler and the text version of what it says. According to a source from Fillydelphia Radio, they claim this cyber attack is real.
What I believe this "attack" really is is some people from the /b/ board trying to stir up the attention from the hacktivist group, Anonymous. They usually go after groups/websites they do not agree upon.

| Well, from what I looked up and heard, this "attack" is not being launched by Anonymous. Apparently, it's the Anti Brony Brotherhood group stirring up this attention, thinking that Anonymous is their personal army, when really, Anonymous doesn't take orders from anyone. This is what I heard, I don't guarantee this. Just for safety measures, just leave the forums under "Admin's Permission" for next couple of days. I'll be worrying about something worth my time on Saturday (no offense). | |
