| I always wanted to make this topic, but always forget about it! This is good not only for us, but whoever Googles this subject for advice.
I want to know about your parent's awareness of My Little Pony and the brony fandom, and what they think about it.
My story begins with my parents doing my laundry and discovering a few of my pony t-shirts. I knew they were aware something was up, but I never had the confidence to talk to them about it. I was afraid they would either be disappointed or judge me harshly.
One day, one of my friends came over and meet my parents he blurts out "So what do you think of the brony thing?" I facehoofed and knew I had to confess to them. I was forced to tell them everything MLP and brony related.
The next day, my mom was cutting my hair, and we decided to talk about it a little more in detail. My parents were confused about the whole fandom, but they said they were PROUD of me for deciding to become a brony! They said I made my own decision, good friends, and could be one of those bad boys who parties hard!
You know, it was one of the toughest things I ever had to do with my parents, but it was totally worth it! Now the rest of the family might be a challenge.... | |

| well my story happened during a car journey, me and my mother were discussing things and somehow it came into the conversation then she couldn't speak because of laughter for the rest of the journey. she told my father and he was strangely ok with it so they're cool with it | |

| I told them and they don't really care. They could care less about my interests. | |

| My mother has been aware of my cartoon obsession for years. This is just another one. | |

| Honestly I had a little sister and my Mother liked My little pony sense she was a kid, so I had plenty of opportunity to watch the show, but I had NO idea about the fandom till my older brother announced his love of the show and Fluttershy. After wards it was easy to tell them and I just started messing around on the inter web. This is really the biggest place I take part of the fandom in. I'm still a closet brony to most of my friends (except to a select few like my cousin and by best friend). | |

| I guess I can understand some of these stories. I grew up with Pokemon, so saying there is a fanbase of men who watch MLP is just another thing to the pile! | |

| Lets see...My mother found out about my interest in the brony fandom when she caught me checking out EQD. She finds it funny more than anything else, and doesn't really care too much. On the other hand, the rest of my family has no idea about it, except for my uncle, who I have never told directly, but alluded to it. Other than that I am pretty open about it with friends. I don't shove it in others faces, but I am not afraid to admit it if it ever comes up in a conversation | |

| My various other obsessions slightly overshadow my Pony liking. So it hardly comes up. | |

| I just directly stated it out to my mom. I told her about the show, and she supports it fully. She liked it so much, that she became a pegasister. | |
